My Experience with Scaler Academy: Review for Juniors

We are delighted to bring to you the journey of our Scaler " Nipun Suradkar " who is an amazing example of "When talent meets hard work, anything is Achievable". Presenting his journey in his own words: My background: "I was born in Ulhasnagar in Thane district - Maharashtra and I did school and college from the same city. In school, I was a bright student, always securing above-average marks. One of my school seniors joined IIT, and his life suddenly took a turn for the better. Which motivated me also to pursue engineering. I was always into technology and this news aligned with my dreams and aspirations. However, up until 10th, most of us can secure good marks by the rote learning techniques and the stuff we study in 11th, and 12th really can’t be learned with that. I worked on genuinely understanding each and every concept to do well. Although I tried really hard and studied a lot, I was not able to crack IIT. I didn’t get disheartened and decided to make so...

How I Got Into Amazon: My Review of Scaler Academy

Image
Our Scaler Mentees are an integral part of our coding community and it gives us great pride to be able to see them grow into a better version of themselves. Here is what our Scaler Shubham Verma had to share about his experience with us, "I came to know about Scaler Academy when I was in the final semester. I have some decent knowledge of DS&Algo but that was not enough to crack top tech giants interviews. I joined it and as the name suggests Scaler Academy help me scale my skillset level by level. The course is very well designed in sections such that it will prepare you interviews in the first 3–4 months of the course. It’s obvious that software engineering is not all about DS&Algo, so in the next 2–3 months you will be trained on different Backend/Frontend technologies as per your choice. So overall this 6-month course not only makes you good at interviews but also gives you your first hand-on experience in the software engineering field. I was persuing this  course ...

Scaler Academy Changed My Life In The Best Possible Way: Review by Suraj Kumar Awasthi

Image
Presenting the journey of our Scaler Suraj Kumar Awasthi in his exact words: "From spending 3 years in a service-based company to now cracking all 4 product-based company interviews, my journey with Scaler Academy has been anything but Ordinary. I barely managed to get admission in an engineering college, joining as part of its second batch in 2011. With no infrastructure, no proper labs, and on top no campus placements. I started facing self-esteem issues. But all I aspired to know was some thing related to computers. There is no other way to put it. I realized that my education is still not complete, and I decided to appear for GATE , even after preparing for 1 year, couldn’t make into a big one and somehow got a private college in Pune, but all it could do for me was land me a job in a service-based company. Initially, I got into a non-development profile. I worked on myself recklessly and luckily, I got my first development project. But I knew I wasn’t in the right place. I w...

Image
Read the story of our Scaler Bibhu Prasad Pala , from being a Scaler mentee to Software Development Engineer at Amazon in his words. "I am IB Academy Student who recently got placed in Amazon. I will pen down my story! And will leave up to you to decide if it is worthy or not! I was working as an intern (in 8th sem) and work was not great and even my salary was not satisfactory. I tried asking referrals from close friends, seniors, and even strangers. And Finally I got one from very good startup @Fivertran and prepared for weeks and attended the interview but I failed. I was broken because referrals for freshers is a tough job if you are not from IIT or NIT. Now I had no referrals, Soon I found InterviewBit is going to conduct classes and they give referrals and We have to pay after we get placed in our dream companies. I thought It’s a win-win situation. They conduct Entrance test in First Batch I couldn’t get in I tried the second time and I cleared in Second Batch test. Origina...

Although these problems usually do not have any real-life significance, they are used to test the skills of a programmer. A programmer is given multiple problems to solve within defined time and space constraints and is judged on the basis of efficiency and complexity of the code. Most of the technical recruiters hold tests involving programming problems to compare and filter the candidates with the best problem-solving skills. Apart from the enormous career benefits, competitive programming acts like brain food and helps you to improve your mental strengths. Solving a wide variety of questions within strict time limits improves your focus, optimizes your thought process, and teaches you to handle stressful situations calmly. You get to know the art of concentrating on a task for long and produce the r...

IIITH Alumni Startups InterviewBit and Scaler Academy – Reimagining Online Tech Education

Image
For Founders Anshuman and Abhimanyu, it was their love for computer science that brought them to IIITH. The entrepreneurial bug caught the duo early in 2008 while still on campus which resulted in them starting their own ventures "Daksh" - a home automation system prototype, "Campus Bhopu" - a precursor of sorts to Facebook, along with their bactchmate Jayraj Bhattacharya. Although their ventures were a success, after graduation they went on to pursue corporate jobs where Anshuman was hired by Facebook and Abhimanyu joined Fab.com. Four years into their respective jobs, the duo decided to quit in 2014, and founded InterviewBit .  With their vision of bridging the gap between university education and industry requirements which became apparent after interviewing multiple candidates in their respective companies, they launched Interviewbit in 2015. IB which Abhimanyu refers to as a "massive public library of programming problems" which is a suc...
